Learn Electric Guitar

learn electric guitar
Best way to learn electric guitar?

I’m 17 and have a really bad attention span and become easily bored, but i’m really interested in learning the electric guitar.
i need to know the easiet way to learn how to play.
is it better to learn the theory behind it or learn chords or just to get familier with the instrument?

For people who can play guitar:
How did you learn?
What path did you take?
Which bit is hardest to learn?
Which bit is easiest?

The easiest and fastest way to learn to play any instrument is to take lessons from a good teacher. If you don’t get along with that teacher, or feel as if you are not progressing fast enough, get a different teacher. When selecting a teacher, you have every right to interview them as if they are applying to work for you. This is what I expect from every new student. It is my responsibility to prove to my students that I CAN teach them to play. If we do not see eye-to-eye, then the lessons will be a waste of time for both of us.

I feel the best way is to study Music Theory AND learn chords at the same time. This might also help keep your attention focused.

I studied piano first, then moved on to other instruments. I also learned by watching as many musicians as possible and picked up loads of information, technique and style from them. I was fortunate to come from a large family of musicians and learned rapidly because of the constant exposure to music and players.

As to which is hardest or easiest, that will vary from individual to individual. I don’t think I could even tell you what was hardest or easiest for me… it was all just part of the whole deal.

Hope this helps!
