Tacoma Acoustic Guitars

Is it possible to trade in my current guitar for something different?
I got an acoustic guitar on Christmas (my first guitar), a Gibson Maestro, and its in very good condition.
However, I played my youth counselor’s Tacoma guitar at church, made of softer wood, and it sounded a lot better and was easier for me to play. So multiple questions…
*Is it possible for me to trade in my current guitar for one like that?
*If so, where can I trade it in? Do you think I’ll get much for it?
*What kind of acoustic guitar would you recommend for me? I have pretty small fingers so I don’t want something too big, I think they come in different sizes. What I have right now is 41″.
Thanks, thats why I don’t think it was a good idea for my parents to surprise me. I didn’t really get a say in what guitar I got.
Yes, most guitar shops will take trade-ins. The trade-in value won’t be very much… in a perfect world it would be 1/4 the new street price with the used sale price being 1/2 the new street price.
Part of the sound of an acoustic guitar is it’s size. If you like the sound of the Tacoma, I’d go with the Tacoma.
You might check out some more acoustics at the guitar shop. You may find something in your price range that you like the sound and feel of better than the Tacoma. Always try before you buy though.
