Construction Features of the Yamaha LS26 Acoustic Guitar

The Yamaha LS26 is an outstanding musical instrument, hand made and utilizing exceptional traditional Guitar manufacturing techniques coupled with modern new innovations. The back and sides of this instrument are made of Rosewood and use a new non-scalloped bracing design to attach to the solid Engelmann spruce top which has been treated using Yamaha’s original wood reforming technology (A.R.E). The Grand Auditorium sized body of the LS series gives the guitar an incredibly detailed and articulate tone which is ideal for finger-style, recording or any application where the extra dynamics of the smaller body can shine through.

Most acoustical guitars worldwide have a spruce top which has lightweight yet extremely stiff properties. It project mid-range tones better than, practically, any other wood which is very important in the absence of an electric pickup. The spruce wood top has a high velocity of sound, resonant open mid-range, high frequency attack and good low end breadth. The LS26 top has been produced using Yamaha’s original A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) technology which uses precision controlled humidity and temperature to manipulate the molecular properties of the wood to produce the characteristics of instruments that have been played for years. Instruments made with woods processed this way produce a tonal richness that is equivalent to having a brand new vintage instrument.

The Yamaha LS26 has a Mahogany fretboard and laminated neck which has been modified to incorporate a 5-ply vintage ‘V’ profile and an enlarged neck block. This design creates a neck that is exceptionally strong with more overall mass than it’s predecessors to deliver greater tone from the instrument. The smooth lines and edges keep the playing surface unencumbered and is great for those players who prefer low string height. The Mahogany and Ebony help to dampen the high-end ranges of the sound to produce fuller and more gutsy wooden tones.

Overall the Yamaha LS26 boasts a number of unique player-focused construction features which produce an instrument with incredible strength, outstanding comfort and fabulous tone. Improved stability and tonal sustain from the enlarged neck block, enhanced low-frequency response from the effective transmission of vibrations from the spruce top via the new bracing design and the pre-aged tone of the Guitar due to Yamaha’s exclusive ARE wood treatment enable this instrument to have a wide dynamic response and a robust, meaty tone.

With dynamics, sensitivity and clarity built into the design from day one, APX is a guitar not to be underestimated.SRT PickupWhen professional guitarists want to record real acoustic guitar tone, theyll record the guitar with a microphone. That holds true for guitarists who prefer using electric-acoustics on stage as well. Electric-acoustics are very effective in live situations due to their ability to adjust sound and balance volume with the other instruments in the band. But the sound that electric-acoustics deliver is merely the amplified sound from a pickup attached to the bridge or the top, and lacks true acoustic resonance and ambiance. True acoustic guitar tone that you hear on recordings only exists in the recording studio where experienced sound engineers have the means to capture that sound.Features: Solid Spruce TopFlamed Maple Back & SidesRosewood Fingerboard & BridgeDie-Cast Chrom

(Acoustic Resonance Transducer) technology Yamaha electric acoustic guitars have consistently used piezo pickups to reproduce the pure sounds of the acoustic guitar. But piezo pickups tended to overreact to changes in attack, which in turn caused distortion. To achieve ideal playability, we had to improve the way that these dynamics were controlled. To provide a solution to this issue, the new pickup was designed with a multilayer structure consisting of six layers of different materials. This dampens excessive vibration from the soundboard while picking up small resonances to achieve ideal sensitivity and outstanding dynamic balance.Features: Spruce Top Nato (Eastern Mahogany) Neck, Back & Sides Rosewood Fingerboard & Bridge Die-Cast Chrome Tuner
